Fucking long trip to do there and back in one day, but overall, happy with the result & trip- well done Mr Strug!

Lots of words giving better analysis than me, however I want to highlight poor decision-making as what's catching us at the moment - the biggest being Nobles ridiculous hack/ block/pull on their player after about 2 minutes- totally putwind in their sails, needless and meant he was on a knife edge for the rest of the match.

Jenks for getting caught and giving the foul away for their goal- just poor and its not the first time this season- what is going through his head

On the other hand- creswell continues to improve after his early season wobbles- he was excellent

Finally, in the last 20 minutes with them on their backs, we never seemed to watch to move the ball wide fast enough- we were sometimes three men over but still slowly moved the ball around and that allowed them to recover...

I think we all have a problem....

A club like us should be glad for the comeback home or away.

We now have team...fuck me.....even a squad that is easily capable of brushing these desperate for points clubs aside
home or away.Yet we can get dominated and put ourselves extremely under the kosh home and away against the lesser teams

Over a summer we've changed our style of play and introduced
at times nearly half a new team and expected them to gel.

All of those are valid and all of those are confusing my expectancy levels to fuck.

Tempo is the cure and lazy passes is our gripe BUT we are at least passing now.

I'm going to go with the "lets let them gel for a season" and see what happens but not stress now when we go 2 goals down, as the major difference now is we are CAPABLE OF ANYTHING.

Fucking hell alf, it's the same thing from you every week. Football isn't always won and lost in midfield. They hardly dominated us yesterday. It wasn't the midfields fault that Jenkinson gave away a pathetic foul and it wasn't the midfields fault that Reid or tomkins didn't do their job from the resulting free kick.

Our midfield has done fine this season. That's why we're sitting where we are in the table with 15 points from 8 games.

An away point anywhere at anytime is good esp considering we were 2 down.

Many plonkers on here seem to think we are gonna challenge for the league this year, truth is Leicester and Palace are better sides at the mo.

Sir Alf, good post and I pulled Payet up two games into the season on how often he gives the ball away in dodgy positions but it's expected that some will go astray with his artistry in setting players up. He needs shielding and I think we have the players to do this although Noble is not one of them.

The old West Ham would have got beat no doubt about it,still concern about certain players but I thnk Song for Noble will be a huge call and with Song and Payet pushing on the defensive midfielders will really have their work cut out and will have to perform.

TWENTY attempts at goal away from home is for us a remarkable statistic and shows our intent and we are not far short of being a top top side 😉

Re: Sunderland v West Ham - Official Match Thread 2-2 FT
Noble like others is getting caught in possession and making mistakes but Kouyate was marginally worse yesterday. To be balanced we should also mention that Sunderland's second goal came as a result of Payet losing the ball with a poor pass. He though creates so much that its understandably not highlighted so much.

Midfield is our issue. As mentioned, the selection is not balanced enough. Its not hard working enough when in possession with its movement and with closing the opposition when we do not have it. Too many of our midfielders happy to get forward (Lanzini, Kouyate, Moses, Payet particularly) but not so keen to do the unseen, dirty work of closing the space, getting back and making it hard for the opposition to find space and time.

Obiang for me is a better bet on the road particularly and maybe Bilic was being too bold or underestimating Sunderland by thinking he could pick a set of midfielders whose instincts were attack minded ? Noble as the more defensive oriented player was risky as he is not suited to the role. Song, Antonio and even young Oxford mean we will have other options so all is not lost. But Bilic needs to work out more balanced combinations to match who we are playing on the day.

All that said, we have to be happy with a point after a very poor first half where we did not compete.

To be fair to Lanzini, he was having a go and, with Payet, was the spark for our recovery.

It was one of his long shots that brought about the equaliser.

I dont mind people having a go but not when you cant hot the target and are 30 yards out.'

We are very wasteful witu the ball, especially in dangerous areas or when we have committwd too many players.

Cresswell and Noble are always prone to giving the ball away in dangerous areas and our set pieces and crosses need drastic.improving.

There are some great plus points to the team this season so far but we need to be a bit cleverer.

For me we are too light in the middle, Noble is inconsistent and we are not bossing the midfield. I always thiught we needed one more signing in there, I liked M'bodj who is now at Anderlecht. But I think Song will make a big difference as will Valencia as I think he will link up well with Sakho.

19 away points is a good return at the end of the season isn't it?

I think we would've drawn even if they'd stayed with 11

Re: Sunderland v West Ham - Official Match Thread 2-2 FT
I think our biggest issue is giving the ball away in very dangerous areas. Its leading directly to goals and leaves the back four exposed, to put it mildly.

I thought Kouyate not contributing yesterday was the difference between winning & scrapping a draw, he did nothing.

Maybe he's been banging Ballo's ex too much.

Re: Sunderland v West Ham - Official Match Thread 2-2 FT
Our midfield is being battered early in some games. Noble under bilic is having far more of the ball but frankly he is not a first choice player for this role. Song cannot get back soon enough.

Lanzini looks like he going to have a great season.

Not sure where I said that, although it's true of course.

To be honest it sickens me how this site revolves, one week it's fine to cunt of all and sundry, then no criticism, not even of a constructive nature, is allowed, or you get called a cunt?

Fucking pathetic, pricks on here like Shin really do believe that they can come on here and 'moderate' the forum, telling people what they can and can't say and expect to be taken seriously as well. Well I say, go fuck yourself.

coffee but we have been there MANY times in the past and probably will again. But this team have shown they can get back form deficits, something I haven't seen in a hammers side. Ifs buts and maybes are all well and good, but lets deal with what happened. We need to start quicker, as we seem to be very shaky in some games for the first 30 minutes.
